Marina Sanaya

Marina Valterovna Sanaya Melnyk ((ロシア語:Марина Вальтеровна Саная Мельник), born 7 January 1959) is an Olympic figure skater who competed representing the Soviet Union. She placed 18th at the 1972 Winter Olympics. She was 13 years old at that time.
Marina is a daughter of Walter Sanaya - famous ex-goalkeeper of FC Dynamo Moscow and FC Dinamo Tbilisi of the 1950s.
Following her retirement from competitive skating, she became a skating official and has served as a judge, technical controller, and referee. She was the judge for Russia during the pairs event at the 2002 Winter Olympics.〔(ESPN: Judges' scorecard )〕
Sanaya was honored at the Ice Theatre of New York's annual benefit gala in 2008.
As of 1999, Sanaya resides in Englewood, Colorado.
